Michael Vick looked spectacular Thursday night against the Panthers, finishing with 9 of 10 105 yards and a INT which was off a hail mary so no fault there. Vick looked poised and comfortable in the pocket delivering some great passes while using a lot of read option. Foles had the start and did some good things with a rushing touchdown but it was the second week in a row where he had a turnover. Vick runs the offense just as fast and effective as Foles with much more athleticism. Honestly yes Chip Kelly may be no closer to naming a starter with how well both have played, but you have to think he knows that Vick gives the Eagles the best chance to win and has outperformed Foles. Vick had two rushes for 20 yards and had....now bear with me as it is only week 2 of the preseason, NO TURNOVERS which to me is a example of how this offense is going to be run, with the ball coming out very quickly. Nick Foles continues to show some sneaky mobility with his nice touchdown run, he executes the read option impressively well finishing 6/8 53 yards and a INT so the consistency is there but just don't see that IT factor like Vick has, plus I have not seen any deep shots by Foles or rookie Matt Barkley or Dennis Dixon for that matter.
As of this point I see it as Vick 2 Foles 0 for the QB job with the biggest preseason game coming up in week 3. I think Kelly knows who his guy is as well as the media and fans know, yet he still has not released it probably because Foles is actually been a nice surprise in the new offense.
The Eagles took the Panthers down 14-9 to go 1-1 on the preseason, The Eagle Eye Focus Podcast recap will be on tomorrow.
