Eagles should pursue Quintin Mikell

I said this once on the podcast and I am going to say it again, by the way I also predicted Chaney getting cut on the podcast unlike Eagles TV Network who said he was a "lock" to make the roster....please. With the release of veteran Kenny Phillips who could never get on the field, this now leaves the safety position to Patrick Chung and either Nate Allen or Earl Wolff as the starter when neither one look ready to start. So this brings up a great time for the Eagles to get a veteran safety to go along with Chung. This to me should be former Eagles Safety Quintin Mikell who was great along with Brian Dawkins and when #20 left. Mikell is currently a free agent after being released by the St. Louis Rams who went younger at the position when drafting T.J Mcdonald in the second round of the draft. Last year Mikell had 101 total tackles and his last year as an Eagle he had 3 picks which the Eagles desperately need back at safety. 101 tackles just shows this guy can still play. So with great leadership and a great tackler, why doesn't Howie Roseman give Mikell a call. I think with Chung and Mikell it would make a solid core of two veteran tackling machines that can get turnovers as well. Earl Wolff can play special teams and come in certain packages which would be better for the rookie anyway, Nate Allen should be released and Colt Anderson can be your 4th or 5th guy depending on if you keep Coleman or David Sims as your 4th (or Nate Allen of course). If the Eagles keep 4 then Anderson will be the 4th but if 5 then expect Nate Allen or Kurt Coleman to be back on the roster.
