Why Keeping Nnamdi Asomugha is a good idea for the Eagles

The Eagles are getting ready for the draft in April and many people are saying the Eagles could have 4 new starters in the secondary and with the 4th pick in the draft Dee Milliner CB of Alabama is high on the Eagles radar. I think drafting Milliner is a great pick don't get me wrong, he has the size, the toughness to play press coverage with the Eagles. Now many fans and analyst would say well that means bye bye Nnamdi Asomugha but not necessarily. Yes Asmougha is ready to make 15 million this year and yes his first 2 years in Philly have been awful but to me its not all his fault. The Eagles first year with him were with a new defensive coordinator, a lockout for less offseason workouts, and then a bunch of new players who were not familiar playing with each other. I believe we need to keep Nnamdi even though last year was just as bad, Milliner could use a mentor to base his play off of and I think Nnamdi still has that shut down ability. If the Eagles can restructure his contract I think he will still be a viable assest for the Eagles until we find another great young corner. The safeties are bad enough as it is so drafting a safety in the draft like Kenny Vacaro out of Texas would be a big move as well but corner to me is still the biggest need and Nnamdi can still be our 2nd corner will Milliner as he showed stints of greatness again last year.
